Buyers can now take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme at Dandara’s award-winning development in Tunbridge Wells
For anyone who dreams of owning a new-build property in Tunbridge Wells but only has a small deposit, a home at the stylish Knights Wood development could now be within reach, thanks to the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Traditionally, a deposit of around 20% of the purchase price has been necessary to secure a mortgage for a new-build home. However, the scheme is designed to help buyers who have at least a 5% deposit.
Under the scheme, buyers can borrow 20% of the purchase price interest-free for the first five years, as long as they have a 5% deposit and the property price does not exceed £600,000.
This ‘equity loan’ arrangement makes new-build homes affordable to buyers who would have previously been unable to afford the deposit required.
At Knights Wood, there are a number of stylish house types available below the £600,000 Help to Buy threshold, including the two-bedroom, semi-detached Victoria and the three-bedroom Sunburst, with semi-detached and detached versions currently still available.
Speaking of the arrival of Help to Buy at Knights Wood, Susie Bennett, Dandara’s UK Sales Director for the South East said,
We are delighted to be able to offer Help to Buy on some of our stunning new homes at Knights Wood.
I really hope that the scheme allows us to welcome some new buyers who may previously have thought a new home at Knights Wood was out of their reach. Availability is limited though, so I would urge anyone interested in Help to Buy to act fast!
Two, three and four-bedroom homes are now available at Knights Wood, with prices from £360,000.
