Brand new fast service to Canary Wharf and Central London is now up and running.
Residents of Dandara’s Knights Wood development in Tunbridge Wells can now enjoy an almost door-to-door coach commute to London, following the launch of Centaur’s new 793 Flyer service.
Launched on Monday 16 April, Centaur’s new route offers two weekday peak time pick-ups from Knights Wood, at 6.24am and 6.59am. The service continues to Tonbridge before running fast to Canary Wharf, arriving at 7.34am and 8.09am respectively, then continues into Central London.
With an annual fare of £2,917 (from any stop), compared to an annual train season ticket of £4,580 from High Brooms (£5,232 including Underground travel), the Centaur service offers a much cheaper alternative to the train, plus a guaranteed seat and additional facilities such as free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and USB charging points.
Speaking of the new service, Patrick Denton, Dandara Senior Sales Consultant said, “Knights Wood is already very popular with young professionals, many of whom commute to London. This new service increases their options and avoids the need to travel to High Brooms or Tunbridge Wells stations to catch a train, which for many will be a real bonus.”
Centaur is expecting the route to be very popular, as Patrick Sims, Centaur’s Transport Manager explains, “We are delighted to extend our service to the residents of Knights Wood. Generally, we can collect passengers very close to their front door and drop them off closer to their place of work, which we hope will be an attractive proposition. With door-to-door travel times of around one hour 10 minutes from Knights Wood to Canary Wharf and one hour 30 minutes to London Bridge, we believe this is a genuine alternative to the train.”
The 793 Flyer provides Knights Wood residents with a direct link to Canary Wharf and Central London.
As well as the morning commute, the 793 Flyer runs back to Knights Wood in the evening, picking up from Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Fenchurch Street and Canary Wharf.
As an added incentive, Centaur is running a special offer for the first two weeks of the service, offering travel to London for just £1 return per day! Centaur also offers various fare options including books of tickets, which are not currently offered by rail companies. Effectively, these allow Centaur passengers to “pay as they go” and is particularly popular with commuters who may only travel to London two or three times a week.
